Basic Collection Information

[ppm:alt id=1787] Green bins and blue boxes are collected on a weekly basis. Garbage is picked up every other week based on your location in Aurora. Please refer to our "Waste, Recycling & Green Bin Collection Route Map" for more information.

Please place garbage, green bins, blue boxes and yard waste at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled day and by 6:00 a.m. at Yonge Street and Industrial Parkway (but not earlier than 4:00 p.m. the night before).

Please note: We recommend a maximum of three (3) bags/cans/items of garbage every two weeks.

Acceptable Containers for Garbage

Metal or Plastic Cans

Plastic Bags

Must have 2 handles and a secure lid;
Do not use ties/bungee cord;
Maximum 98 litres (3.5 cu ft);
Maximum weight 22 kg (50 lbs).

Must be securely tied;
No loose grocery/kitchen catcher bags;
Do not place sharp objects inside bags. Place these materials in a separate, sealed and labeled cardboard box;
Maximum weight 22 kg (50 lbs).
